I returned from China where I visited (with my family and friends on a tour) for eighteen days. All of the cities were wonderful and the cruise on the Yangtze River was amazing. It was my idea to see it before the government floods the area and opens the dams to use the power. It will be completed and flooded by 2012.
The other highlight of the journey was seeing the Terracotta Soldiers. They were discovered by a farmer in 1974. The farmer is still alive and signed the book that I bought. He was searching for water to irrigate his crops- now the gov't gives him a stipend to sign the books. He is 84 years old.
I loved seeing the soldiers and their horses and guards and archers. Each one of these 2000 year old masterpieces is different from one another.
After visiting many spectacular sights, we took a high speed ferry from the mainland to Hong Kong. I don't know what I was expecting but I truly loved this user friendly city.
What did I buy in China? Everyone asks. I looked at everything and bought little. No regrets.
Please see some of my new work at the Catskill Mountain Foundation- Katterskill Gallery on Main Street , Hunter, New York.
